Tamil phonemes recognition using neural networks
Keywords:
Recurrent neural networksvoicedwith tamil short vowels, speech recognition.Abstract
Tamil phoneme recognition is realized with the help of Recurrent Neural Networks. This model comprises of three stages,
which include the Preprocessing stage, Training stage, and Testing stage. The speech corpus is designed from thirty
children (10 boys and 10 girls who are Normal Hearing children and 5 boys and 5 girls who are Hearing Impaired) in the
age ranging from 4 to 7 years for voicing Tamil short vowels. Each network is trained for each gender with the speech
corpus for 25 Tamil phonemes. Testing is performed for Normal Hearing networks with Normal Hearing children and
Hearing Impaired children and the experiment for Hearing Impaired networks is done only with Hearing Impaired children.
This consists of Visual Feedback by the comparison of Normal Hearing and Hearing Impaired.
