Food is a basic human need that plays a very important role in the maintenance of life. Wellbeing of food has turned into a
noteworthy worry to the food industry given that the utilization of defiled food and water adds to a bunch of medical issues
everywhere throughout the world. Food servers working at restaurants assume a noteworthy job in transmission of food
borne sicknesses. Even though there is a lot of investment in training of food service staff, food-borne diseases remain a
big problem to both developed and developing nations. According to some studies the personal hygiene and practices will
minimize the risk of food contamination. A sample of 150 (n = 150) food handlers from major restaurants in a metro city
were selected for this cross-sectional study to analyze the association between personal hygiene practices and occupational
ethics. A strong association between the personal hygiene practices and the occupational ethics has been statistically
proved using Pearson Chi-Square Test. This study suggests that by improving the hygiene practices, employee work ethics
can also be improved, thereby leading to occupational fulfilment and improved food & service quality.
