Abstract

A study was former includes four cultivars of Lagerstromia indica (Rosea grassi, Carolina beauty, Violacea selez grassi,
and Nivea), collected from Nursery of the Ministry of Municipalities Erbil, Iraq. The anatomy of leaf as well as epidermis
characters and pollen morphology of Lagerstromia indica cultivars. There were trichomes on the leaf surfaces, different
shapes of midrib and margin, presence the druses crystals in lamina of some cultivars. The shapes of the epidermal cells of
the leaf were usually polygonal and the anticlinal walls were straight. The stomatal apparatus presented on the abaxial side
of the leaf was hemi-paracytic, paracytic and tetracytic types. Pollen grains were tricolporat, spheroidal to prolate or
triangular in shaped. Its shape in equatorial view is circular while that of circular or triangular and the ornamentation of
pollen grain is foveolate or densely regulate types.
