Engineering surveys in the construction sector represent an integrated approach to the study of environmental factors in the
area of construction objects, creating plans for the interaction of these objects with the natural environment, the rationale
for their engineering protection and favorable living conditions for the population. The data obtained during the
engineering activity, which is part of the package of documents, provides information on whether this construction activity
is possible, the necessity to acquire a special permit, as well as the place and method of construction work. Engineering
preparation of territories is one of the most important tasks of urban planning. It is a complex of measures and facilities to
ensure the suitability of the territory for urban planning use and the creation of optimal sanitary, hygienic and microclimatic
conditions. The main tasks of the engineering preparation of territories are: vertical planning and drainage, installation of
carriageways and pedestrian roads, car parks and commercial sites; the creation of green spaces of various functional
purposes; construction of architectural forms; artificial lighting of streets, grounds and other territories; network of
underground utilities and sanitary cleaning of city. The article considers the stages, which are carried out when constructing
a high voltage line to a residential building. The article presents the applied means and the equipment required. The
following works were carried out: 1) the normative and technical documentation regulating engineering and geodesic
relations during the construction of linear objects was analyzed; 2) the procedure for conducting engineering surveys was
investigated; 3) the technical characteristics of the devices used in the work were obtained.
