Diabetic retinopathy [DR] is a very communal, long-term, micro vascular complication of Diabetes Mellitus [DM] and an
important cause of visual disability and sightlessness. It is considered the hallmark of generalized microangiopathy
occurring in together type 2 and type 1 DM. In India the pervasiveness of diabetic retinopathy in the population with DM
is 18.0%. In a population-based study in South India, DR was perceived in 1.78% of the diabetic patients partitioned.
Diabetic affected individuals in India are around 51 million. This research work focuses to correlate the harshness of
diabetic retinopathy with glycemic control [HbA1c], lipid profile, Body Mass Index and duration of diabetes.
