IoT based sign language words recognition system

Nearly 31% of the Indian population are either deaf or mute people and one third among them are both deaf and mute.
Gesturing is an impressive way of communication to present a particular meaning or intent by performing certain action or
a movement. In this paper we have introduced a method for improving the communication of the deaf and mute people
with other normal people also among themselves. This method uses Flex sensors, Pressure sensors and also Inertial Motion
sensors which are attached to a cotton glove to convert the specific Sign Language word to a text and an audible voice with
an android smart phone. The text to speech feature is added in android application to make communication easier for the
deaf and the mute peoples.
